Job summary

Qualifications

• MRCOphth or FRCOphth (or equivalent) is essential.
• GMC registration and licence to practise required.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure required.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist ophthalmology care for adults and children across clinics, diagnostics and surgery.
• Lead paediatric ophthalmology and ocular motility services.
• Contribute to theatre activity and clinical decision-making.
• Teach, supervise and mentor junior doctors and other staff.
• Engage in service development, quality improvement and governance.
• Carry out audits and participate in research.
• Screen for retinopathy of prematurity as appropriate.
• Provide general ophthalmology and cataract clinics as desired.
• Participate in on-call rota as required.
