Job summary

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Consultant Ophthalmologist with Special Interest in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Motility. The role spans outpatient, diagnostic and surgical pathways for children and adults across Calderdale Royal Hospital and Acre Mill Outpatients.

You will lead paediatric and ocular motility services and contribute to theatre activity, teaching and governance.

Qualifications

• MRCOphth or FRCOphth or equivalent is essential.
• Registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practise.
• Experience in all aspects of Ophthalmology and paediatric ophthalmology desirable.
• Teaching, supervision and mentorship experience is desirable.
• Audit principles knowledge and involvement in audit projects.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and work flexibly across services.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical care for children and adults in outpatient, diagnostic and surgical pathways.
• Lead paediatric and ocular motility services and contribute to theatre activity.
• Support junior doctors, ACPs, nurses, orthoptists and optometrists; contribute to service development and governance.
• Shape innovative care models and future development of ophthalmology services across CHFT.
