Job summary

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist to join its specialist neurophysiology team. This full-time post (10 PAs) offers some schedule flexibility, with EEG reporting often possible remotely, and engagement with NHS and PCU services.

The role involves delivering high-quality NCS/EMG services, EEG reporting, intraoperative monitoring, and leading multidisciplinary collaboration across services.

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
• MRCP (UK) and GMC registration.
• CCT in Clinical Neurophysiology or equivalent (within 6 months of interview).
• Experience with EEG/EMG/NCS and intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM).
• Ability to supervise junior medical staff and lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct adult NCS & EMG clinics, including complex referrals.
• Accurate EEG reporting on-site or remotely; neuroprognostication in critical care.
• Report on carpal tunnel clinics led by physiologists.
• Oversee intraoperative monitoring service.
• Engage in clinical governance, audits and CPD; contribute to service development.
