This isan opportunity to work as a Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist in a 10PA jobwith the Exeter Liaison Psychiatry Team in Devon Partnership NHS Trust.
The well-establishedCore 24 model team work with The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHSFoundation Trust to provide mental health care to people admitted to thehospital or attending the Emergency Department.
Theteam are also working into an Integrated Psychological Medicine Service inpartnership with Talkworks (IAPT), Health Psychology and Medical and SurgicalSpecialties developing and contributing to care pathways for people withfunctional and chronic conditions.
Theteam is established with Multidisciplinary professionals including Nurses, OccupationalTherapists, Social Workers, Liaison Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatristsand Trainee Doctors.
We workin a modernised setting in the attractive listed building of Wonford HouseHospital in central Exeter, within a short minutes walk to the AcuteHospital entrance and additional designated rooms within the DGH.
The role is to providesenior clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary Liaison Psychiatry service,with opportunities for development and clinical leadership in the IntegratedPsychological Medicine Service. The post holder will be expected to engage inthe service governance programme and service improvement projects. The roleis well supported by all levels of trainee medical staff and there will beprovision of supervision to these staff and additionally opportunity toengage in teaching and training of medical students. Research interests areencouraged and we have links with The University of Exeter and a closeconnection with our own R&D team that we are co-located with at WonfordHouse Hospital.
