Hywel Dda University Health Board is recruiting a Consultant Laparoscopic General Surgeon with a special interest in Upper GI surgery to serve across Glangwili and Withybush sites in Wales. The post offers a dual-site role with on-call duties and elective activity, plus opportunities for teaching and service development.

The successful candidate will bring strong laparoscopic skills, leadership abilities and a commitment to training, research, and quality improvement within a rural NHS setting.

Qualificações

• Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
• Specialist Register (or CCT due within six months).
• Certified Advanced Life Support (ALS).
• Sub-specialty training should be at UK consultant level or equivalent.
• Desirable higher qualifications.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver high-quality general surgery with focus on Upper GI and laparoscopic procedures.
• Participate in on-call rota and emergency general surgery coverage (1:8).
• Undertake elective procedures at Withybush General Hospital and support endoscopy services.
• Provide clinical leadership and supervise junior medical staff.
• Support RTT and SCP targets and engage in teaching and supervision.
• Participate in audit, governance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with primary care and community teams to improve pathways.
• Maintain CPD and revalidation requirements.
