Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team in Enfield, Middlesex. You will provide clinical leadership and expertise in old age mental health, supporting comprehensive psychiatric services for older adults. This is an immediate start role for 2 months, working 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing psychiatric assessment and diagnosis for older adults with conditions such as dementia, depression, anxiety, and psychosis.
  • Developing and implementing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, including pharmacological, psychological, and social interventions.
  • Leading and supervising multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated care.
  • Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and clinical reviews.
  • Educating and supporting patients and their families on mental health conditions and management strategies.
  • Collaborating with external agencies to facilitate integrated care pathways.
  • Engaging in quality improvement, audits, and research to enhance service delivery.
Requirements:
  • Medical degree with specialist training in old age psychiatry, GMC registration, and inclusion on the Specialist Register.
  • Significant post-qualification experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist in old age mental health.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Commitment to person-centered, recovery-oriented care.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties and training.
  • Section 12 Approved Clinician status.
