As a member of the General Medicine consultant team, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary ward-based team overseeing patient care.
Depending on your sub-specialty interests, clinical and non-clinical sessions can be incorporated into your job plan. The CBU is focused on developing services innovatively and supports sessions to develop new services.
Admin and SPA time are allocated accordingly, and you will also be part of the GIM on-call rota.
The job plan initially comprises approximately 10 programmed activities (PAs), with additional PAs for on-call duties.
New consultants receive an additional 0.5 PA SPA for the first 6 months.
All consultants are expected to complete at least 42 of their 52 fixed sessions annually. Leave requests require 6 weeks' notice (pro-rata).
