Job summary

Naturally Compliant is seeking a solutions‑focussed Consultant Ecologist to join our team in the UK. You will support clients across renewables, infrastructure, and land management with on‑site ecological services during pre‑planning and construction phases.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in construction-phase ecology, GIS experience, and strong communication skills to liaise with landowners, regulators, and project teams.

Qualifications

• Ecologist with at least 2+ years of construction-phase experience.
• Needs current CSCS and driving licence; access to a car preferred.
• Experience with ecological surveys, mitigation, and licensing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend development sites to undertake ecological pre-activity surveys to inform mitigation requirements.
• Provide ecologically sound advice to inform construction programme and methods.
• Act as accredited agent on relevant protected species licences, depending on experience.
• Liaise with Project Management teams to promote compliance with management documents.
• Act as primary contact for unexpected protected species encounters, providing site-appropriate solutions.
• Author PEA’s.
• Assist in the delivery and/or creation of Habitat Management Plans / Enhancement Plans.
• Author Species Protection Plans / Breeding Bird Protection Plans.
• Uphold Naturally Compliant standards and client values.
• Promote high levels of performance and deliver toolbox talks.
• 2+ years in construction-phase ecological services (Consultant level).
