Job summary

Consultant Dermatologist sought by Bupa to lead expert assessment, diagnosis and management of diverse skin conditions at the Everything Skin Clinic (SK7 1AE). This self-employed role requires a minimum of 8 hours per week and involves performing dermatology procedures, biopsies and minor skin surgery within a multidisciplinary team.

You will maintain compliant patient records, contribute to governance and clinical improvement, and stay up to date with advances in dermatology while delivering

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatological conditions.
• Proficient in biopsies, excisions and minor skin surgery.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management of dermatological conditions.
• Deliver high-quality outpatient dermatology services with excellent patient experience.
• Perform dermatology procedures including biopsies, excisions and minor surgery.
• Develop personalised treatment plans and advise patients on management of skin conditions.
• Maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records.
• Collaborate with GPs, nurses, surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to clinical governance and service development.
• Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and safety protocols.
• Support teaching and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Maintain CPD and stay up to date with dermatology advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide range of dermatological conditions.
• Deliver high-quality outpatient dermatology services, ensuring excellent clinical outcomes and patient experience.
• Perform dermatological procedures as appropriate, including biopsies, excisions and minor surgical interventions.
• Develop personalised treatment plans and provide clear advice to patients regarding management of acute and chronic skin conditions.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records in line with professional and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs, specialist nurses, surgeons, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and service development activities.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant clinical guidelines, patient safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Support teaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within the wider clinical team where appropriate.
• Maintain continuous professional development and stay up to date with advancements in dermatology practice and treatments.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role

• GMC registration with a licence to practise and Specialist Register entry in Dermatology.
• Strong experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatological conditions.
• Confident in performing dermatology procedures and minor skin surgery.
• Excellent clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
