Job summary

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust in Worthing is recruiting a Consultant Cardiologist with sub-specialty training in Heart Failure to join a multi-site cardiology service. The role involves outpatient and inpatient care, and collaboration with teams across Worthing, St Richard’s, and RSCH.

The appointee will join a team of 10 cardiologists and participate in on-call duties with a 1:12 rota. Opportunities exist for teaching, audit, and potential research.

Qualifications

• MRCP or its recognised equivalent.
• Full GMC registration (licence to practise) or eligible within six months of interview.
• Higher Degree and Teaching Qualification are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiology service.
• Provide on-call support to Worthing and partner sites (1:12 nights/weekends).
• Lead teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and students.
• Support audits, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate rapid access heart failure clinics and ward rounds.
