Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Consultant Anaesthetist with an interest in General Surgery and some experience in Vascular Surgery. Based at Royal Preston Hospital, you will join a dynamic, tertiary Trauma Centre delivering a broad range of services.

The post offers a demanding yet rewarding role with on-call duties, opportunities for research, and involvement in extensive multidisciplinary teams across Preston and Chorley sites.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice.
• MBBS or equivalent.
• FRCA or equivalent.
• CCT or equivalent (or within six months at interview).
• Higher Medical Degree (MD or MSc) (gen)

Responsibilities

• Provide an anaesthetic service across Preston and Chorley sites as part of the Department of Anaesthesia.
• Undertake pre-operative assessment and post-operative management.
• Undertake weekly theatre sessions with potential evening or weekend sessions.
• Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergencies.
• Maintain continuing education and professional development.
• Lead and contribute to MDTs and clinical governance.
