Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a substantive Consultant in Anaesthesia to join our busy department across Blackburn and Burnley sites.

The post covers a broad range of specialties including colorectal, hepatobiliary, vascular, major head & neck, orthopaedics and trauma, with paediatric anaesthesia for children over 6 months. The department operates 27 theatres across two main sites and emphasises teaching and research within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration and eligible for specialist register in anaesthesia.
• Experience supervising junior staff and leading services.
• Experience in NHS environments and commitment to teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide anaesthesia for the broad range of surgical specialties on site.
• Contribute to teaching, training and clinical governance within the department.
• Support on-call arrangements and participate in multi-disciplinary teams.
