Job summary

UHNM is seeking a Consultant General Anaesthetist with a specialist interest in Obstetrics for Royal Stoke University Hospital, Stoke-on-Trent. This full-time, permanent post offers 10 sessions per week and a salary between £113,565 and £150,569 per annum, paid yearly.

You will join a large department and provide a comprehensive anaesthetic service across orthopaedics, trauma, CEPOD, upper GI, and regional anaesthesia, with leadership, teaching, and governance responsibilities.

FRCA
Full GMC registration
Post graduate qualification in Medical Education
Qualification in Research
Fellowship in Perioperative Medicine
Specialist Registration (CCT or CESR)

Responsibilities

To actively engage and participate in the delivery of safe and effective anaesthetic services in support of orthopaedics, acute trauma, CEPOD, upper GI, regional anaesthesia, fragility fracture service and adult general anaesthetic workload.
To provide leadership and strategic direction in the provision, development and assurance of safe and effective anaesthetic care.
To lead and participate in clinical governance and quality improvement activities in the wider anaesthetic directorate.
To actively participate in teaching, training and supervision of anaesthetic postgraduate doctors in training (PGDiTs) and Keele Medical School students.
