Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust seeks a Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia to contribute to a busy obstetric anaesthesia service across its Blackburn and Burnley sites. The post involves preoperative assessment, perioperative and postoperative care, and anaesthesia for general, vascular and specialty operations with access to consultant supervision.

The ideal candidate will have substantial obstetric anaesthesia experience, GMC registration and a commitment to teaching and audit.

Qualifications

• MBChB or equivalent and GMC registration
• Full registration with General Medical Council and up-to-date revalidation
• Extensive obstetric anaesthesia experience desirable and CESR support considered

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative assessment and perioperative/postoperative care across both sites
• Provide anaesthesia for a broad range of surgical specialties with consultant support available
• Participate in on-call rota and contribute to trainee supervision and teaching
