University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Anaesthetist to join Queen's Hospital Burton. The role provides anaesthetic services across a broad surgical portfolio and supports education and supervision of junior staff in a supportive department.

The post includes involvement in clinical governance, audits and service development, with opportunities to contribute to research and innovation aligned to individual interests.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent consultant anaesthetic care across a wide range of surgical specialties.
• Participate in the 1:18 out-of-hours consultant on-call rota.
• Collaborate with surgical, theatre, critical care and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support supervision, education and training of resident doctors, medical students and other healthcare professionals.
• Engage in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and service development.
• Contribute to ongoing development of services, including protocols, guidelines and new ways of working.
• Opportunity to contribute to research, innovation and development according to interests.
