Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking an experienced anaesthetist to deliver anaesthetic services for elective orthopaedic and spinal procedures. You will work within a state-of-the-art team and contribute to pre- and post-operative assessments and patient information for GPs.

Applicants should hold the GMC Specialist Register in anaesthetics with several years of experience, including UK practice. Ongoing CME, revalidation, and in-house education are supported, with potential specialist development.

• Candidates should have several years of post-qualification experience, including at least 2 years in the UK.
• Commitment to continuing medical education and revalidation is expected.
• Participation in in-house education and potential specialist role development are offered.

Responsibilities

• Provide anaesthetic services for elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery.
• Perform pre- and post-operative assessment and information to patients GP.
• Collaborate with Consultants, Medical Director and Leadership Team.

Job description

Barlborough is an Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgery Hospital. You will be required to provide anaesthetic services to support elective orthopaedics and spinal surgery. You will be part of a state of the art anaesthetic team delivering cutting edge anaesthetic techniques to allow patients to be discharged on the same day after knee and hip replacement surgery. Experienced in providing pre and post-operative assessment of patients, your role will include providing good quality written information to the patients GP. As a key member of the centres team you will be working closely with our team of Consultants across a wide range of specialisms and the hospitals Medical Director, and local Leadership Team. Furthermore, you will be a key contributor to the development of Clinical Quality Standards and participate in our audit and clinical governance programme.

With a current registration with the GMCs specialist register of anaesthetics youll have several years experience, at least 2 of which are within the UK. You are committed to your own continuing medical education and professional development. We will also support you to ensure ongoing medical competence through participation in the annual revalidation and reaccreditation schemes of the GMC and the Royal College of Anaesthetists. As well as providing mandatory training through our excellent in house education programme. We could even give you the opportunity to develop into a specialist role of your interest.
