Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust invites applications for a full-time Consultant in Acute Medicine based at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield, with 10 programmed activities.

The post covers on-call and consultant-present care across sites, with emphasis on the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) at Pinderfields; duties include evening and weekend on-call, liaising closely with the Emergency Department. The team sees ~30,000 patients per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call and consultant-present care across our sites, with a primary focus on the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Pinderfields Hospital and on Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) at Pinderfields Hospital.
• Daytime duties include four consultants providing concurrent ward rounds in liaison with a fifth consultant who supports ED in-reach assessment and coordination with the Emergency Department.
