Job summary

Orbital South Colleges in Croydon is seeking a Construction Technician to join our new Construction department at John Ruskin College. You will support learners in practical skills in the workshops, supervise and maintain workshops, and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.

You will also be responsible for ordering stock, maintaining consumables, preparing materials for student activities, and cleaning and maintaining equipment; a collaborative, proactive approach is essential in a

Qualifications

• At least a Level 2 vocational qualification in Brickwork, Carpentry or Plumbing.
• Knowledge/industry experience of working within at least two of the following areas: Brickwork, Carpentry & Plumbing.
• Experience of working with young people.
• Full First Aid Qualification (or willing to obtain).
• A pro-active approach and be able to work on their own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and maintain construction workshops and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Order stock, maintain stock of consumables and prepare materials for student activities.
• Prepare materials for student activities and ensure equipment is clean and well-maintained.
