Job summary

East Sussex College Group seeks experienced trades professionals to join as sessional instructors at the Eastbourne campus. You will support learners by delivering practical sessions, prepping workshops, and guiding students to develop industry skills in construction trades.

Flexible hours to fit curriculum needs, with an annual salary in the region of £15-£16 per hour inclusive of holiday pay. DBS checks required; we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Industry experience in one or more construction trades.
• Relevant vocational qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent.
• Strong practical skills and current industry knowledge.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for supporting and developing learners.
• An interest in working within the education and training sector.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff within classroom and workshop environments.
• Prepare workshop areas, materials, tools, and equipment for practical sessions.
• Assist with the delivery of practical learning activities across a range of construction trades.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and encouragement to students.
• Promote safe working practices and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Support learners in developing industry-relevant skills and achieving their qualifications.
