Due to increasing student numbers our Construction, Engineering and Green Skills department is growing. We have the opportunity for a dynamic Construction Technician to take an active role in supporting our continued success.

The role of Construction Technician will involve but is not limited to:

• Supporting Lecturers in various trade area delivery, including Bricklaying, Carpentry, Plastering, Plumbing, Interior Systems and Multi-skills provisions.
• Mixing of training materials such as render, mortar and plaster.
• Ordering of materials and stock monitoring / rotation.
• Checking deliveries and taking responsibility for storing.
• Disposal of waste materials into skips and arranging collection.
• Basic maintenance of machinery (training provided if required).
• Security of storage containers and other storage areas.
• Security of loading bay and other related areas.
• Organising external maintenance companies for regular visits.
• Some supervision of learners / external visitors on occasion.

Our successful candidate will have/be the following:

• Knowledge of relevant codes of practice and awareness of current health and safety regulations and relevant legislation
• Experience of maintaining high safety standards
• An approachable manner with a ‘Can do’ attitude.
• Self-motivated
• Team player, likewise, able to work alone too.
