Job description

Ringway Jacobs is thrilled to offer an exceptional opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Construction team in Cheshire East.

In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Construction Manager and be responsible for overseeing the seamless planning, coordination, and delivery of a variety of highways improvement projects across the borough.

Your primary focus will be to ensure the safety of all staff, including supervisors, operatives, and supply chain partners, while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence. You’ll lead a range of activities to ensure that projects are completed in line with relevant standards, policies, and strategies.

This role involves managing both major and minor projects, ensuring full compliance with NEC contracts, as well as overseeing budgets and change processes to deliver successful outcomes.

The Role

  • Carry out supervision of both self-delivery and SCP gangs to ensure that works are carried out safely and to the highest standard.
  • Take ownership of recourse to ensure programmes are delivered to key milestones across the contract and to financial budgets.
  • Take ownership of delivery to ensure work is carried out in accordance with Ringway Jacobs specifications and procedures.
  • Ability to self-manage priorities and workload using agile/mobile working across the Cheshire East.
  • Communicate daily with the drainage support team.

About You

  • Good knowledge and application of design procedures, guidance and standards and good practice documents.
  • Good knowledge of Construction, Design and Management regulations and application of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Good Knowledge of and application of Highway Legislation.
  • Previous experience of working with Highways Drainage is desirable but not essential.
