Aspire People are seeking a passionate Construction Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Leyton, East London. The role involves delivering practical construction lessons to secondary pupils and inspiring their practical skills and confidence.

Ideal candidates will have construction teaching experience, QTS or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification, and a commitment to supporting learners with SEMH needs.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching construction or vocational studies.
• Experience working with SEMH/SEN settings.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Passion for helping young people with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and practical construction lessons to secondary-aged pupils.
• Plan and deliver lessons covering construction techniques, tools and health and safety.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet SEMH needs.
• Create a safe, structured learning environment with good behaviour.
• Support students in developing life skills and employability.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and pastoral staff.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to support achievement.
