Job summary

JMC Legal Recruitment is seeking a Construction Solicitor (Associate or Senior Associate) with 4+ PQE for a role in Southampton. You will join an established Construction & Engineering team advising on development and infrastructure projects, combining front-end work with disputes exposure to add value for clients from inception to completion.

The role covers drafting and negotiating JCT, NEC and bespoke contracts, advising on appointments, warranties, bonds, and third-party rights, and

Qualifications

• 4+ PQE in construction law, with experience in contentious, non-contentious or mixed work.
• Strong problem-solving and commercial advisory skills.
• Ability to build lasting client relationships and work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating JCT, NEC and bespoke construction contracts.
• Advising on professional appointments, collateral warranties, bonds and third-party rights.
• Supporting major development projects across care, retirement living, marine and infrastructure.
• Handling construction disputes involving defects, delays, payment issues, termination and adjudication.
• Working directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams to find practical, commercially focused solutions.
