We have an exciting opportunity for a junior Solicitor (ideally NQ - 3 PQE), to join our highly regarded construction team. We are looking to bring someone in who has a passion for contentious work but also offer the opportunity to get involved in some non-contentious work, if desired.
Day to day, you'll be successful in this role by:
We are looking for a construction lawyer, with a particular interest in Contentious work (NQ - 3 PQE) to join our national team. This is an opportunity to get involved in high quality, complex, adjudication and litigation (including Protocol) work, together with providing strategic advice and flexible dispute resolution solutions for clients, including through mediation, within a supportive and friendly team. There will also be an opportunity to undertake some non-contentious work should you want to; but that is not a requirement for the role.
Ideally, you will have an interest in providing positive solutions to our clients, which include national developers and contractors, well-known housebuilders and major housing associations in the social housing sector. Our approach is simple - we understand our clients' needs and objectives and provide solutions in a commercially focussed and pragmatic way.
We want to invest in your career and help you to become a recognised expert in your own right. So, you will have plenty of one-to-one development and encouragement from the wider national team. We will ensure that you get a good level of client contact and responsibility. We will also actively encourage you to be involved in business development and will give you opportunities to participate in networking and marketing activities. We are highly sector and client focussed, so understanding and knowing our clients will be part and parcel of your role, together with plenty of direct client contact.
It is an integral part of this role that you comply with information security and all firm policies and procedures; and we have strong systems to achieve time and cost efficiencies for clients.
The role is right for you if:
We value well-rounded teams and individuals. We believe that long hours are not healthy for great client service. We foster a positive culture and look forward to hearing from enthusiastic candidates who can contribute to our success in the construction team.
You’ll be joining a national law firm with a strong reputation, built by our exceptional people passionate about their fields. We aim to help you reach your full potential, enjoy your work, and deliver excellent results for clients. We cultivate a culture that encourages long-term commitment.
We work flexibly and empower you to work where you do your best work, balancing individual needs with team engagement and client service.
A career at Clarke Willmott is different from other law firms. We celebrate diversity and shared values, fostering an environment where you feel empowered, valued, and free to be yourself. Our comprehensive learning and development programmes, along with wellbeing initiatives, support your career growth.
We expect dedication and are committed to rewarding your efforts with flexible benefits, recognizing that excellence often requires going the extra mile.
