In-House Construction Solicitor (Non-Contentious)

Bath - Salary up to £65K plus 10% car allowance

Yolk Recruitment is supporting the recruitment of an in-house Solicitor position with a leading construction and engineering consultancy. Join a highly experienced Commercial & Legal team and support a global project portfolio including major developers, Premier League Football Clubs, top-tier universities, and renowned architects. This role involves cross-border work, contract negotiation, and involvement in high-profile developments.

Responsibilities

As a Solicitor, your responsibilities will include:

1. Providing practical, commercially focused legal advice on non-contentious construction and commercial matters.
2. Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing consultancy agreements, warranties, novations, sub-consultant contracts, and related legal documentation.
3. Advising on risk mitigation and supporting internal teams throughout project lifecycles.
4. Promoting adherence to corporate governance and advising on exceptions.
5. Supporting legal training initiatives and improving internal legal systems.

Required Experience

To succeed, you should have:

1. A UK legal qualification with 0-4 years' PQE.
2. Experience in non-contentious construction law, with exposure to commercial legal matters preferred.
3. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
4. A commercial mindset with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
5. Attention to detail and effective workload management.
