Job summary

Fortel is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee daily construction activities at Ipswich, ensuring work aligns with plans and quality standards. You will lead operatives and subcontractors, enforce safety rules, and coordinate with Site Managers to resolve issues.

The role requires relevant safety certifications (SMSTS, CSCS Gold Card, EUSR) and proven supervisory experience in construction. Overtime applies after 39 hours; pay is £27.81/hour (PAYE).

Qualifications

• SMSTS certified to manage on-site safety
• CSCS Gold Card held
• EUSR certification held
• First Aid certification held
• Proven supervisory experience on construction projects
• Strong leadership and organisational skills
• Familiarity with construction drawings and specs
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily site activities to align with project plans
• Enforce health, safety and compliance standards on site
• Lead a team of operatives, subcontractors and labourers to hit milestones
• Ensure tasks are completed on time, within budget and to quality standards
• Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers and others to resolve issues
• Enforce safety regulations (SMSTS, CSCS Gold Card, EUSR) and site policies
• Conduct safety briefings and risk assessments; oversee PPE use
• Identify hazards and take corrective actions to mitigate risks
• Oversee first aid provisions and a safe working environment
