Job summary

Fortel is seeking an experienced supervisor for an all-round civil site role in Ipswich, covering structures, earthworks, and general construction. You will oversee concrete, formwork, and drainage, coordinate labour and subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality on site.

The role requires CSCS, SSSTS/SMSTS, DBS clearance, and drug/alcohol testing for nuclear site access. Applicants should be ready for hands-on leadership and on-site problem solving.

Qualifications

• CSCS Gold or Black card required.
• SSSTS or SMSTS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee concrete works, formwork, rebar, drainage and groundworks; assign crews.
• Monitor health and safety compliance.
• Prepare RAMS and ensure quality control.
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant and materials.
• Lead daily briefings, allocate tasks, on-site coordination.
• Review work quality and productivity against specs.

Hours: 7:00am-18:00 12 days on 2 days off every other weekend off

Fortel is looking for an experienced Supervisor This is an all‑round supervisory role, involving hands‑on oversight of structures, earthworks, and general construction operations, with flexibility to cover additional areas when team members are on leave.

Key Duties

• Overseeing concrete operations, formwork, rebar, drainage, and groundworks; setting contractors and crews to work
• Monitoring health, safety,
• RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), and quality
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant, and materials to ensure works progress safely and efficiently
• Assist with daily briefings, task allocations, and on‑site coordination
• Monitor work quality, productivity, and adherence to specifications
• Maintain communication with site management, engineers, and other supervisors
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; direct experience with formwork, concrete, and civil construction techniques.
• Strong all‑round civils background: structures, earthworks, and general construction operations

Requirements:

• Valid Gold or Black CSCS
• SSSTS or SMSTS

Must pass a

DBS criminal record check and mandatory
