Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey is seeking a Security Liaison Officer to safeguard high-value construction sites and ensure robust on-site security procedures. You will perform inspections of operatives, tools, and plant, monitor security perimeters, and verify delivery and paperwork compliance.

Applicants should have proven construction-site security experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication with stakeholders. Security clearance is essential, with relevant qualifications desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role within a construction site environment.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Knowledge of physical security systems, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Security clearance already obtained is essential.
• Relevant security or risk management qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular and random reviews of operatives on site. To include ID & Personal Electronic Devices (PED) checks.
• Carry out regular and random reviews of tools on site to ensure they have no Bluetooth, WIFI, GPS capabilities etc.
• Carry out regular review of all plant on site to ensure it has been cleared for use.
• Carry out daily checks of the secure perimeters to ensure no damage or tampering has occurred
• Carry out regular and random reviews of delivery vehicles entering site to ensure all requirements are adhered to.
• Record findings from all above site inspections and file centrally
• Review security clearance tracker to ensure all operatives/staff on site have the minimum required security clearance and all info is up to date
• Ensure induction records align with the security clearance tracker
• Review delivery paperwork to ensure drivers are complying with the procedures in place
• Carry out regular and random reviews of delivery vehicles entering site to ensure all requirements are adhered to.
• Manage the visitor induction process
• Manage the ongoing implementation of the plant/machinery tracker to ensure approval prior to being let on site
• Conduct regular security briefings/Toolbox talks as deemed necessary by the project team
• Manage the issuing and return of security ID badges to all personnel
