Construction Recruitment Consultant – London

Are you an experienced Construction Recruitment Consultant looking for your next opportunity?

We’re looking for a driven and proactive recruiter with previous experience in the construction recruitment sector to join our London team. This is a 360 recruitment role, ideal for someone who understands the construction market, enjoys building relationships and wants the opportunity to manage and grow their own desk.

Our Construction division supplies labour across the UK, working with main contractors, subcontractors and specialist contractors across a variety of construction sectors and projects.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the full recruitment process, developing client relationships and growing your desk within the construction sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing a live construction recruitment desk
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients
• Developing new business with main contractors, subcontractors, developers and specialist contractors
• Understanding clients’ projects, site requirements and upcoming labour needs
• Supplying temporary and/or permanent construction workers and professionals
• Using job boards, social media, professional networks, referrals and our internal database to source and attract suitable candidates
• Screening and interviewing candidates to assess their experience, qualifications and suitability
• Building and maintaining a strong talent pool for current and upcoming construction projects
• Managing the recruitment process from initial vacancy through to placement and start on site
• Registering candidates and ensuring all required documentation and certifications are obtained
• Ensuring candidates meet relevant Right to Work, CSCS and other role/site-specific compliance requirements
• Coordinating site inductions and other onboarding requirements when necessary
• Maintaining regular contact with candidates and workers throughout their assignments
• Negotiating pay rates, charge rates, margins and terms with clients
• Keeping candidate and client records accurate and up to date
• Working towards agreed activity, business development and billing targets

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Recruitment Consultant within the construction sector is essential
• Experience recruiting temporary workers, permanent candidates, or both
• Strong understanding of construction roles, trades and site environments
• Good knowledge of the recruitment process from sourcing through to placement
• Experience managing client relationships and understanding workforce requirements
• Confidence in business development and growing existing accounts
• Strong candidate sourcing and networking skills
• Commercial awareness, including an understanding of rates and margins
• Comfortable working towards KPIs and targets
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills
• Confident communicator who can build relationships with clients, candidates and workers
• Good level of written and spoken English
• Professional, reliable and self‑motivated
• A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
