Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority is recruiting a Construction Project Manager to deliver buildings and facilities for fusion research. You will oversee planning, design and construction, balancing time, cost and quality while coordinating Estates and wider teams.

The role is a 2-year fixed-term contract with regular on-site work. The position requires civil engineering qualifications, professional membership, and proven delivery of construction projects within regulated, publicly funded environments.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a construction discipline.
• Membership of a professional body such as CIOB or APM.
• Proven experience of managing the design and delivery of construction projects.
• Experience delivering construction projects within a publicly funded environment and regulatory procedures.
• Knowledge of BIM Level 2 and construction legislation including CDM Regulations.
• Strong stakeholder, budget, programme and risk-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, design, development and delivery of construction projects per Property Strategy and Development Plan.
• Provide technical input into civil, mechanical and electrical designs for buildings.
• Coordinate internal and external design and delivery teams for project outcomes.
• Manage stakeholders with differing requirements and ensure design standards and soft landings are applied.
• Develop building specifications for offices, labs and workshops.
• Manage budgets, contracts, programmes and performance reporting.
• Identify and report project and organisational risks.
• Apply BIM Level 2 to new-build projects.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and UKAEA procedures.
• Use ASITE and other systems to support project delivery.
