Job summary

Fawkes & Reece West are recruiting an experienced Construction Project Manager to join their Aftercare team on a permanent basis. You will manage building defects and aftercare activities, ensuring issues are identified, tracked and resolved ahead of handover and throughout the defects period.

The role involves coordinating site teams, subcontractors and clients, maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring timely resolutions in line with JCT contracts and retention procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Project Manager or similar role in construction.
• Strong experience in aftercare, defects management or post‑completion delivery.
• Understanding of Defects Liability Period (DLP).
• Knowledge of JCT contracts and retention procedures.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel across the North of England and Scotland.

Fawkes & Reece West are working in partnership with a Tier 1 construction company to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their Aftercare team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong background in construction aftercare, defects management and contractual procedures to join a leading contractor, overseeing projects across the North of England and Scotland.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing building defects and aftercare activities, ensuring issues are identified, managed and resolved efficiently ahead of project handover and throughout the relevant defects period.

You will work closely with site teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure defects are addressed to the required standards, helping to facilitate a smooth handover process and maintain strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate building defects across multiple construction projects.
• Oversee the identification, reporting and resolution of defects prior to handover and during the Defects Liability Period.
• Ensure defects are rectified in line with contractual obligations and agreed timescales.
