Job summary

Streamline Search Ltd is seeking an experienced Procurement Buyer to support multiple construction sites. You will process requisitions, convert them to accurate purchase orders and manage supplier relations to ensure timely deliveries across projects.

The role involves PO tracking, reporting, and proactive stock monitoring to optimise purchasing efficiency. The ideal candidate has construction procurement experience, GCSEs in Maths and English, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a buyer or in procurement within construction.
• GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
• Solid understanding of procurement and supply chain principles.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience using purchase order systems, ideally Construct.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive problem-solving and prioritisation.

Responsibilities

• Process requisitions from site managers and convert to purchase orders.
• Develop and monitor track of outstanding purchase orders.
• Prepare weekly PO reports and flag invoice discrepancies.
• Coordinate deliveries and ensure orders align with PO terms.
• Monitor back-ordered materials and communicate delays.
• Respond to supplier queries and provide documentation.
• Notify management when orders are fulfilled and invoices received.
• Maintain stock levels for regularly used construction materials.
• Assist with supplier negotiations and arrangements.
• Communicate purchasing requirements clearly with site teams.
