Job summary

Wates is offering a Planning Management Trainee programme in Manchester to help you learn how projects are programmed and managed from tender to completion.

You will support development of project programmes, monitor milestones, identify risks, and gain hands-on experience through site visits and structured development as you build technical and stakeholder management skills for a career in construction planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2:2 or above by September 2027
• Full UK driving licence required for all locations
• Interest in building a career in the built environment

Responsibilities

• Assist development and maintenance of construction programmes and schedules
• Monitor project progress and track milestones
• Identify risks or delays and contribute to project controls
• Support planning meetings and stakeholder discussions
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to reflect project requirements in programmes
• Attend site visits to understand sequencing and delivery methods
• Develop understanding of planning principles and best practices
• Contribute to reports supporting decision-making
