Job summary

DAC Beachcroft in London is recruiting an Associate to join our Construction Professional Indemnity (PI) team. This role focuses on defending claims and advising on complex PI disputes within the insurance and construction sectors.

You will work with colleagues nationally and internationally, handling disputes across litigation, arbitration, and mediation while contributing to business development and client relationships.

Qualifications

• 4-7+ years PQE in Construction PI or professional negligence litigation.
• Experience acting for insurers or insureds in PI disputes.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and professional duties.
• Excellent legal analysis, drafting and case management.
• Confident with insurer clients and construction professionals.
• Team-focused, with willingness to supervise juniors.
• Commercially aware with willingness to contribute to business growth.

Responsibilities

• Defending claims against construction professionals (architects, engineers, design & build contractors, project managers, quantity surveyors, consultants).
• Acting for insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates and global brokers.
• Advising on policy coverage, notifications and claims management.
• Managing disputes including negligence, design errors, cost overruns, delays and project management failures.
• Supporting risk mitigation and pre-action strategy.
• Handling litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation and settlements.
