Job summary

IDEX Consulting is partnering with a leading national law firm to appoint an established Construction Partner to shape growth in Scotland. This is not simply inheriting a caseload but building on a successful national Construction & Engineering practice and expanding its presence across Scotland.

Qualifications

• Established Construction Partners or senior Construction lawyers with a strong Scottish market profile.
• Experience across contentious, non-contentious, or broader construction practice.
• Technical expertise and commercial acumen to drive growth in Scotland.
• Willingness to build on an existing national practice and influence strategy.

I'm working with a highly regarded national law firm that is continuing to invest in its Scottish offering and is looking to appoint an established Construction Partner to help shape the next phase of growth.

This is not simply a role to inherit an existing caseload. It's an opportunity to build on an already successful national Construction & Engineering practice and play a key role in developing its presence across Scotland.

The wider team advises employers, contractors, developers, funders, consultants and subcontractors across a broad range of major construction and engineering projects, with expertise spanning both contentious and non-contentious matters.

There is also strong crossover with established Real Estate, Infrastructure & Energy, Planning and Dispute Resolution practices, creating plenty of opportunity to develop work across the wider business.

The opportunity

You’ll have the platform, national infrastructure and specialist expertise around you to:

• Grow the Construction practice in Scotland


• Develop existing client relationships and bring new opportunities to the firm


• Work alongside highly regarded specialists across the UK


• Advise on complex, high-value construction and engineering matters


• Collaborate with Real Estate, Energy, Infrastructure and Planning colleagues


• Have genuine influence over the direction and growth of the Scottish practice

Who I'm looking for:

I’m keen to speak with established Construction Partners, Legal Directors and senior Construction lawyers with a strong profile in the Scottish market.

You may be predominantly contentious, non-contentious or have a broader construction practice. What matters is your technical expertise, commercial approach and appetite to help grow something.
