Winsearch is proud to partner with an established specialist contractor that is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Package Manager to support the delivery of major construction projects.

This is a hands‑on delivery role with responsibility for assigned construction packages from mobilisation through to completion. You'll coordinate subcontractors, labour, design information, procurement, logistics and programme requirements, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of construction packages such as windows, external doors, building services, interiors and associated works.

Working closely with project, design, planning, commercial and site teams, you’ll ensure each package is properly coordinated and aligned with the wider construction programme.

The role requires someone who can maintain control of competing priorities, resolve problems quickly and communicate clearly with subcontractors, clients, consultants and internal teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing subcontractor performance, productivity and compliance
  • Developing and maintaining short-term lookahead programmes
  • Monitoring progress and identifying potential delays
  • Implementing recovery plans where required
  • Coordinating design, procurement, logistics and site activities
  • Planning labour, plant, materials, access and storage requirements
  • Managing interfaces between different construction packages
  • Leading daily briefings and coordination meetings
  • Reviewing subcontractor RAMS, ITPs and technical submissions
  • Carrying out site inspections, audits and toolbox talks
  • Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications and relevant standards
  • Managing quality inspections, snagging, defects and handover
  • Supporting commercial teams with package costs and variations
  • Monitoring subcontractor progress against valuations
  • Identifying and reporting commercial risks, changes and opportunities
  • Providing regular progress updates to senior management
  • Liaising with the client, consultants and relevant authorities where required
Health And Safety

You’ll lead by example and ensure high health and safety standards are maintained throughout package delivery.

  • Ensuring subcontractors comply with site policies and approved procedures
  • Reviewing and approving risk assessments and method statements
  • Monitoring safe systems of work
  • Carrying out inspections and compliance checks
  • Addressing unsafe practices promptly
  • Supporting an incident‑free working environment
Programme And Planning

You’ll maintain programme control across your assigned packages.

  • Producing short-term lookahead programmes
  • Tracking progress against the master programme
  • Coordinating package sequencing and interfaces
  • Identifying slippage and programme risks
  • Working with planners to update progress and forecasts
  • Developing practical recovery plans when works fall behind
Quality Management

You’ll ensure work is delivered correctly first time and that all required supporting evidence is maintained.

  • Implementing Inspection and Test Plans
  • Monitoring installation quality
  • Coordinating inspections and sign‑offs
  • Managing snagging and defects
  • Maintaining accurate quality records
  • Supporting package completion and handover
  • Liaising with QA/QC teams and client representatives
What They’re Looking For

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Practical problem‑solving and decision‑making ability
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities under pressure
