As an employee-owned business, our people are at the heart of everything we do - empowered to contribute, innovate and help shape our continued success.

If you want to develop your expertise, contribute to technically challenging projects and be part of a collaborative team, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Construction Manager at Kilnbridge, you'll take ownership of major construction and infrastructure projects from site mobilisation through to successful delivery. Leading teams on site, driving safety, quality and programme performance, and developing future operational talent, you'll play a key role in delivering projects that leave a lasting impact on the built environment.

This is a highly visible leadership position, responsible for managing site operations, driving programme delivery, maintaining the highest safety standards and developing high-performing teams. Working closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, Supervisors and commercial teams, you'll have a direct impact on project success while helping shape the future capability of our operational workforce.

More than just overseeing construction activities, you'll be responsible for solving complex site challenges, managing resources, supporting technical delivery, overseeing workforce planning and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven operational leader who thrives on responsibility, enjoys developing others and takes pride in delivering exceptional results.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and coordinate site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.

  • Manage Supervisors and site teams, providing leadership, support and accountability across project delivery.

  • Champion a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with company procedures, safe systems of work and industry regulations.

  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure actions are completed and closed out effectively.

  • Review project programmes and provide operational and technical input to support successful delivery.

  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and equipment to maximise productivity and maintain programme milestones.

  • Monitor workmanship and quality standards, ensuring works are delivered right first time.

  • Identify and resolve technical, operational and workforce challenges on site.

  • Support cost control initiatives through effective planning and understanding of commercial implications.

  • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Manage workforce planning, onboarding and ongoing development of site-based personnel.

  • Mentor apprentices, Supervisors and future leaders, helping to build capability and succession across the business.

What You'll Need
  • Significant experience in a Construction Manager, Site Manager, Senior Supervisor or similar operational leadership role within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.

  • Proven experience managing site teams and coordinating complex construction activities.

  • NVQ Level 5 or NVQ Level 6 qualification.

  • SMSTS certification.

  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, safe systems of work and site management best practice.

  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of labour, plant and material costs.

  • Experience managing project risks, quality standards and health & safety compliance.

  • The ability to motivate, coach and develop high-performing teams.

  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Alignment with Kilnbridge values: Responsibility, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
