Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Construction Manager to lead the construction and installation phase of major Civils projects from Norwich to Tilbury. You will oversee project teams, coordinate constructability input and allocate staff based on experience and skills.

Ideal candidates will have a background in major civils, strong leadership, and excellent stakeholder management to build close client and subcontractor relationships while ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering major civils projects.
• Experience in a Construction Manager role or similar.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to develop close working relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• A true leader with passion for people development, can-do attitude and a flare for innovation.

Responsibilities

• Overall management of project teams during construction and installation phases.
• Co-ordination of constructability input during solutions identification and development phase.
• Allocation of construction staff to projects based on experience, skills and knowledge.
• Liaises with Project Managers to ensure appropriate construction resource pool and workload balance.
• Oversee construction resources including labour, plant and materials.
• Performance management of subcontractors.
• Ensure teams meet schedules and man-hour budgets and CDM regulations.
• Interface with other leaders to develop project from solution to handover to client.
• Deliver Major Civils projects on time and to quality.
