Job summary

Carbon 60, Inc. is seeking a Highways Construction Manager for a major UK infrastructure programme in the South East. The role is hybrid (3 days on site) with a day rate up to 800 GBP inside IR35, for an initial 6‑month contract.

You will lead the highways construction input, coordinate with consultants and stakeholders, and shape delivery strategies across a multi-billion pound programme. You will drive risk management, cost tracking, and procurement support, while ensuring value for money and

Responsibilities

• Lead highways construction input to the Development Consent Order and guide consultants.

Highways Construction Manager - Major UK Infrastructure Programme

Location: South East England (hybrid, 3 days on site, relaxed culture) Rate: Up to 800 per day (inside IR35) Duration: 6 months, with possible extension

The opportunity

A leading UK infrastructure client is seeking an experienced Highways Construction Manager to join a multi-billion-pound transport expansion programme. You'll be the construction subject-matter lead for the highways scope, reporting to the workstream lead and shaping how a major package of highways works is phased and delivered.

What you'll be doing

• Leading the highways construction input to a Development Consent Order, giving direction, leadership and challenge to consultants
• Making sure consultants deliver value for money
• Developing high-quality Statements of Common Ground with highways stakeholders
• Identifying, managing and mitigating construction risk
• Acting as the focal point for tracking change and cost movement across your scope
• Advising the wider consenting and environmental programme on dependencies, risks and decision points
• Producing technical papers, briefing materials and presentations for regular stakeholder meetings
• Supporting the packaging strategy and contractor procurement

What you’ll bring

Desirable
