EDF Energy is seeking a Construction Manager for their Hartlepool Projects Team. This full-time role involves managing major projects, ensuring safety compliance, and leading a team of engineers. We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our Hartlepool Projects Team on a permanent basis, based at Hartlepool Station.
As our Construction Manager, you will work closely with the Hartlepool Project Delivery Team, Defueling, and Deconstruction Team, although support to other activities may also be undertaken. You will be managing and coordinating several major projects from inception through to completion, while managing a team of engineers.
We can offer a competitive salary from £45,045 to £110,723 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your competencies, experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, site-based position.

As the Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality procedures, policies, and relevant legislative requirements. You will promote a proactive safety culture (including nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety) and ensure frameworks are in place for the health and safety of all personnel on site.
You will coordinate all construction activities and personnel on site, including field supervision, and manage any Project Engineer involved in construction tasks.
You should have at least an HNC in engineering or an equivalent qualification, along with a safety management qualification such as NEBOSH. Relevant project management and delivery experience, along with knowledge of HSE and CDM legislation, are essential.
You should have a proven track record in managing projects through full lifecycle stages, including complex multi-disciplinary projects, managing costs, handling commercial claims, and ensuring smooth project transitions.
Role-specific training will be provided to the successful candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to join the EDF team at Hartlepool.
