The Opportunity

We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our Hartlepool Projects Team on a permanent basis, based at Hartlepool Station.

As our Construction Manager, you will work closely with the Hartlepool Project Delivery Team, Defueling, and Deconstruction Team, although support to other activities may also be undertaken. You will be managing and coordinating several major projects from inception through to completion, while managing a team of engineers.

Pay, benefits and culture

We can offer a competitive salary from £45,045 to £110,723 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your competencies, experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, site-based position.

Alongside a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

Here at EDF UK, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, aiming for an equal gender balance and a broad representation of minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ community, those with disabilities, and social mobility support.

We’re a disability confident employer and will assist with your application, including reasonable adjustments if needed.

We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds and experiences drive innovation. Success means different things to different people, and we support you to pursue a career that’s meaningful to you.

What you will be doing

As the Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality procedures, policies, and relevant legislative requirements. You will promote a proactive safety culture (including nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety) and ensure frameworks are in place for the health and safety of all personnel on site.

You will coordinate all construction activities and personnel on site, including field supervision, and manage any Project Engineer involved in construction tasks.

Who you are

You should have at least an HNC in engineering or an equivalent qualification, along with a safety management qualification such as NEBOSH. Relevant project management and delivery experience, along with knowledge of HSE and CDM legislation, are essential.

You should have a proven track record in managing projects through full lifecycle stages, including complex multi-disciplinary projects, managing costs, handling commercial claims, and ensuring smooth project transitions.

Role-specific training will be provided to the successful candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to join the EDF team at Hartlepool.

Applicants will need to obtain CTC level vetting prior to starting, and residency in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years is required for security vetting.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 1st June 2025. Interviews and assessments will follow soon after.
