Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Construction Lecturer to deliver Brick Laying, Electrical installations, Carpentry, Plumbing and Multiskills to college apprentices in Birmingham. The role requires practical industry experience, strong communication with diverse learners, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to different ability levels to maximise progression and outcomes.

You will assess learners, plan sessions, deliver engaging theory and practicals, manage assessment records, and maintain

Qualifications

• Relevant construction qualifications (degree or level 3 or equivalent).
• DBS (and update service)
• CAVA Level 3 Assessor Qualification desirable
• Knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards and Smart Assessor beneficial
• Willingness to work towards Assessor/Verification awards like TAQA/A1/V1

Responsibilities

• Teach construction subjects to apprentices and students at levels 1-3.
• Support colleges with engineering departments development.
• Deliver high-standard apprenticeship programs.

If you have an ambitious vision for delivering high-standard apprenticeship programs, Construction courses and/or a assessing the construction students.

Colleges across the Birmingham area are often seeking strong, experienced engineering staff to teach at various levels Often level 1-3.

We are looking for an individual who has the passion and ability to impart their experience, skills, and knowledge to a caseload of engineering apprentices and students

The successful candidate will have:

Relevant Construction Qualifications (Degree, Level 3 other recognise quals)

DBS (and on update service)

Great industry experience and knowledge (Crucial)

CAVA Level 3 Assessor Qualification

Knowledge of the Apprenticeship Standards and E-portfolio system (Smart Assessor) is beneficial.

Ideally hold or be prepared to work towards an Assessor and Verification award, e.g., TAQA, A1 or V1.

A minimum of Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English or equivalent.
