Responsible for the effective management of offshore construction projects, this role involves close collaboration with clients to understand project requirements and deliver safe, efficient, and innovative solutions. You will contribute to the advancement of Nexos’ construction capabilities, setting it apart as a leading EPC contractor. A proactive approach to improving practices, ensuring personnel readiness, and enabling accurate planning is central to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across both onshore and offshore teams; actively intervene when breaches in safety or quality are observed.
- Participate in and contribute to tender submissions, including pricing, scoping, and execution planning for multiple concurrent projects.
- Accurately scope projects to define durations, costs, tooling needs, and resource requirements; approve quotations and manage associated procurement processes.
- Oversee project lifecycle from initial survey through to closeout, including approval of CCHPs and daily progress monitoring via offshore reports.
- Support and manage logistics, personnel mobilization, and daily operational coordination for offshore teams.
- Provide technical input to HAZOP and HAZID meetings and attend DNV audits as the construction technical authority to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain oversight of construction focal points and ensure clear delegation of duties and accountability.
- Monitor tooling inventory, manage tooling loss/damage follow-up, and ensure THC (Tooling Holding Certificate) accuracy.
- Own the commercial performance of assigned projects, ensuring budget and contractual targets are met.
- Support cross-project collaboration and knowledge sharing through 'exchange zones' and internal initiatives.
- Provide a comprehensive onboarding experience for all project and contract personnel, with emphasis on new team members.
Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ or City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate high-performing teams in a project environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a record of delivering outcomes across diverse internal and external partners.
- Extensive experience in the successful execution of complex offshore construction projects within the energy sector.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High level of business acumen and commercial awareness.
- Strong organizational and planning capabilities, with flexibility to adapt to evolving project demands.
- Resilience under pressure and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Work Environment & Conditions:
- Regular offshore and on-site travel required.
- Attendance at client offices and company headquarters for meetings and coordination.
- May be required to act as Delegated Operational Authority (DOA) for the Contract Construction Manager when necessary.
