Job summary

Conrad Consulting Ltd is recruiting an experienced Estimator to join a growing specialist contractor operating across construction, infrastructure and refurbishment sectors. The role focuses on preparing competitive tenders, quantifying costs and supporting the commercial team to secure new business across the UK.

The successful candidate will review drawings, perform detailed take-offs, obtain quotations, identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities, and manage multiple tenders

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating within construction, civil engineering or related sector.
• Strong understanding of methods, materials and labour costs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction and infrastructure projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and bills of quantities to establish project requirements.
• Undertake detailed take-offs and measurements for materials, labour, plant and subcontractors.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering during tendering.
• Prepare tender submissions, cost breakdowns and supporting documents.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify pricing.
• Work with commercial, operational and project teams to ensure accurate tenders.
• Maintain estimating records and cost databases.
• Support handovers to delivery team after tender awards.
