Job summary

Vickerstock, in partnership with a growing construction and building services organisation, seeks a Health & Safety Officer to support live projects across site safety, audits, RAMS and ISO management systems.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will provide practical H&S support, inspect sites, investigate incidents, review risk assessments, and drive improvements while maintaining H&S documentation and records.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' experience within a Health & Safety role.
• Construction/engineering or similar operational environment experience.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• RAMS and safe systems of work understanding in construction.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• IT skills and confidence maintaining H&S documentation and reports.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continual improvement of Health & Safety management systems.
• Carry out regular site inspections and audits across live projects.
• Support risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Assist with incident investigations and close-out actions.
• Collaborate with operational teams to identify hazards and promote safe working practices.
• Monitor H&S compliance across projects and highlight improvement areas.
• Coordinate H&S training, competency records and related documentation.
• Support ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 management systems.
• Maintain accurate H&S and quality records and reports.
• Contribute to H&S initiatives and employee engagement activities.
• Provide practical advice to promote a positive safety culture.
