Job summary

Professional Personnel Management Ltd is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our construction team. You will carry out site surveys, prepare cost estimates and tender submissions for refurbishment and new-build projects up to £5 million, and review drawings and tender docs to define scope and pricing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Estimator within a main contracting construction environment.
• Experience pricing refurbishment and new-build projects.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site surveys to assess project requirements, existing site conditions and measurements.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, project budgets and competitive tender submissions for refurbishment and new-build projects valued up to £5 million.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications and tender documentation to establish project scope and pricing requirements.
• Undertake detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost breakdowns.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate competitive quotations from subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Identify commercial risks, cost-saving opportunities and potential value engineering solutions.
• Liaise with clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the tender process.
• Support project teams with ongoing cost analysis, budget monitoring and cost control.
• Attend tender interviews alongside the project team to present estimates, clarify pricing and respond to client queries.
• Ensure tender submissions are accurate, commercially competitive and delivered within agreed deadlines.
