Job summary

Technical Engineering Support (TES) seeks a Construction Engineer HVAC to lead discipline activities on a highly regulated project. You will drive delivery of Construction Work Packs, define scope, and liaise with SMEs and client teams to ensure compliant, up-to-date documentation and strong HSE culture.

The role requires HVAC expertise, nuclear project exposure, and professional accreditations, with BPSS security clearance possible. Joint ventures experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• HVAC trade qualifications with 5+ years' proven experience.
• Professional accreditation in PM, Construction or Engineering.
• Security clearance BPSS or higher.
• CCNSG Safety Passport and safety training.
• Nuclear power project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and motivate the team through best practice.
• Deliver Construction Work Packs to support MEH Alliance.
• Define scope boundaries and coordinates with SMEs and client.
• Ensure documents comply with latest information and are updated.
• Maintain 6-month review cadence and 90% first-time acceptance.
• Demonstrate strong HSE leadership across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate safe access and surveying for construction works.
• Report to Building Manager or deputy and support continuous improvement.

Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering company created over 30 years ago, specializing in the coordination of tests and industrial commissioning. TES also supports its customers in participating in studies and coordinating the assembly of industrial equipment.

As part of our activity, we have a position to fill as Construction Engineer HVAC (f/m)
Accountabilities:

1. Delegation of responsibilities to CE's/Works Coordination Leads. Lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practice.
2. Ultimately accountable to deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Pack scope of works to support the MEH construction activities
3. Define boundary of scope of works
4. Liaising with necessary SME's and client counterparts
5. Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation
6. Ensure documents are kept up-to-date and reviewed on a minimum 6 monthly basis
7. Ownership and driving of deliverables from conception to A-Accepted status >90% first time accepted criteria
8. Prioritisation and ownershipof documentation to enable construction works as per the level 4 plan. E.g. T-3 months accepted prior to works
9. Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures
10. Directly report to the Building Manager or nominated deputy.
11. Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
12. Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements
13. Review and feedback on suitability of level of resource to effectively run the support function

Deliverables :

1. Deliver Construction Workpacks to support the MEH Alliance programme
2. Enable the use of the Procon system to support the construction works and progress reporting of the MEH Alliance
3. Enable the requesting and compliance of the MEH Alliance for the Work Authorisation and Permit systems operated by NNB
4. Enable the co-ordination of safe access routing to workfaces to support the MEH Alliance construction works
5. Enable the topographical and other surveying required to support the MEH Alliance construction works

Specify degree or other HVAC Trade qualifications supported by 5+ years' proven experience

Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering)

Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)

CCNSG Safety Passport

IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH

Proven track record in nuclear power preferred

Proven track record of working in highly regulated industry sector preferred, e.g. Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Marine etc.

Experience working on major construction projects within all aspects of HVAC

Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including experience working within Joint Ventures
