Job summary

TES is seeking a Construction Engineer – Electrical to lead day-to-day construction planning and progression across allocated buildings. You will define scope boundaries, liaise with SMEs and client counterparts, and drive constructability to maximise installation efficiency.

You will manage changes, ensure up-to-date documentation, and own deliverables from conception to acceptance with a focus on safety, quality, and timely project delivery in a nuclear/industrial setting.

Qualifications

• CCNSG Safety Passport required or desirable.
• Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance or higher.
• Professional accreditation desirable.
• Proven experience delivering large scale construction or engineering projects at a management level.
• Strong IT skills and familiarity with construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support the Building Lead in day-to-day construction planning, engineering and works progression.
• Define boundary of scope of works and liaise with SMEs and client counterparts.
• Drive constructability reviews and sequencing to maximise installation efficiency.
• Manage project changes and ensure documentation, contracts and change processes are followed.
• Ensure documents comply with latest works information and are updated at least every six months.
• Own deliverables from conception to acceptance with high first-time acceptance.
• Prioritise and own documentation to enable construction per the plan (e.g., T-3 months).
• Support continuous improvement of processes and HS&E culture throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with nuclear safety and site licence requirements.

Education

Relevant degree in construction or electrical engineering

HNC in relevant construction discipline or electrical engineering

Job description

Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering company created over 30 years ago, specializing in the coordination of tests and industrial commissioning. TES also supports its customers in participating in studies and coordinating the assembly of industrial equipment.

As part of our activity, we have a position to fill as Construction Engineer – Electrical (m/f).

Accountabilities:

• Support the Building Lead in the day-to-day construction planning, engineering and works progression of your specific allocated building(s).

• Define boundary of scope of works

• Liaising with necessary SME’s and client counterparts

• Engage with the constructability of the construction of your specified building(s) using the building engineers as required to facilitate sequencing of installation that maximises efficiency.

• Manage project change within your specified building(s) ensuring that the project change process is adhered to. This will include construction documentation as well as scope change aspects of the contract in coordination with the Building Lead

• Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation.

• Ensure documents are kept up-to-date and reviewed on a minimum 6 monthly basis.

• Ownership and driving of deliverables from conception to A-Accepted status >90% first time accepted criteria

• Prioritisation and ownershipof documentation to enable construction works as per the level 4 plan. E.g. T-3 months accepted prior to works

• Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures

• Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.

• Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements.

Key Deliverables :

• Enable the use of the Procon system to support the construction works and progress reporting of the MEH Alliance

• Raise and manage changes

• Enable the requesting and compliance of the MEH Alliance for the Work Authorisation and Permit systems operated by NNB

• LTQRs

Qualifications / Experience :

• Relevant degree in construction or electrical engineering.

or

• HNC in relevant construction discipline or electrical engineering with extensive experience working in this type of role (MP experience)

• CCNSG Safety Passport

• Capable of obtaining security clearance of BPSS or higher.

• Professional accreditation desirable.

• Proven experience or safely delivering large scale construction or engineering projects including working at a management level of authority. Experience in the heavy industry or nuclear sectors is beneficial as is experience in working with Joint Ventures.
