Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins in London is seeking an associate to join the Dispute Resolution and Litigation team. The role focuses on UK construction disputes, international arbitration in the sector, and broader contentious matters for developers and public bodies.

You will work on adjudication, mediation, and litigation across domestic and international projects, with opportunities to develop business and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 2-5 years' experience in contentious construction.
• Experience of adjudication and UK contentious construction work, or international arbitration in the construction sector.
• Knowledge of construction standard forms such as JCT, FIDIC and NEC.
• Demonstrable passion for business development.

Responsibilities

• Administer alternative dispute resolution including adjudication, mediation, resolution of claims under pre-action protocols, and litigation.
• Dispute avoidance and risk management.
• Contract interpretation and handling professional negligence issues.
• Involvement in domestic matters with potential international exposure; travel as required.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
