Construction Development Manager
Location: Cumbria-based office, with travel across the North East and North West
Salary: £52,000 to £65,000, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Benefits: Company vehicle or electric vehicle equivalent, fuel card, up to 15% annual bonus, hybrid working and pension
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction or development professional to take ownership of a growing portfolio of property developments across the North of England.
You’ll oversee projects from planning approval through to construction, completion and handover. You’ll have the autonomy to manage programmes, budgets, consultants and contractors, while playing an important part in the continued growth of the business.
The role would suit someone who enjoys being closely involved in the full development process rather than focusing on just one element of project delivery. You’ll balance time between the Cumbria office, development sites and hybrid working, with regular travel across the North East and North West.
You’ll take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple development projects, ensuring they remain on programme, within budget and to the expected standard.
Your role will include:
You may also support the assessment of future development opportunities as the company’s pipeline continues to grow.
You’ll need a strong understanding of construction and development delivery, along with the commercial confidence to manage budgets, contracts and project performance.
Ideally, you will have:
A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Civil Engineering or a related subject would be beneficial, but practical experience is equally important.
Professional membership of RICS, CIOB, APM or a similar organisation would also be beneficial, as would experience of property development, housebuilding, regeneration projects and JCT contracts.
This is more than a project delivery position. You’ll have genuine visibility across the business and the opportunity to influence how developments are planned, procured and delivered.
For someone commercially minded who enjoys taking ownership and seeing a development through from planning to handover, this offers the chance to make a clear impact within a growing business.
