Job summary

Amentum in the UK is seeking a ConstructionDeliveryManager to support delivery of a works package on the HPC project. You will collaborate with site teams, manage logistics, planning, and reporting, ensuring compliance with authorities' obligations and client liaison.

The role requires CDM knowledge, construction delivery experience, and strong communication skills. You will lead safety inspections, coordinate with partners, and contribute to project success within a large, multi-discipline team.

Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation.
  • Good understanding of the post holder’s obligations under CDM Regulations.
  • Working knowledge in the delivery of projects.
  • Be able to write informative, concise and meaningful reports.
  • Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
  • Possess excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder

Responsibilities

  • Support the contract partners in their delivery of the works packages to enable efficient delivery of the of their sections of works.
  • Recommend temporary measures to mitigate against safety and/or quality concerns. Follow up by taking appropriate and proportionate action to avoid the cessation of works.
  • Monitor works on site and input into the construction daily report to ensure information is reported up through the organisation to the Senior Construction Delivery Manager and escalation any issues/concerns via detailed reports.
  • Proactively communicate/co-ordinate with other site teams and Construction Delivery Managers to maintain good communication links, and ensure activity is well and timely reported.
  • Attend PLOD/PLOW meetings with the contractor, ensure outputs are recorded and issued to the SCDM.
  • Undertake safety and/or assurance inspections that support the project HSPI’s.
  • Ensure clear, two-way communication with the Senior Construction Delivery Manager so that all activity and issues are directed appropriately

Hinkley Point C (HPC) is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years, HPCs two EPR reactors will be capable of generating 3.26GW of secure, low carbon electricity for 60 years, enough electricity to power around 6 million homes. The ConstructionDeliveryManager will support the deliveryofan area within aspecific section of theWorks. This responsibility extends to all construction and related activities, reporting to theSenior ConstructionDeliveryManagerand includes logistics planning and implementation in collaboration with the site wide logistics team,programming and planning, monitoring and close out of authorities’obligations and conditions andclient liaison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the contract partners in their delivery of the works packages to enable efficient delivery of the of their sectionsofworks.

  • Proactively communicate/co-ordinatewith othersiteteams(H&S, contract, project controls,logistics)andConstruction Delivery Managerstomaintaingood communicationlinks, and ensure activity is well andtimelyreported.This will also include attendances at pre-start briefings and supporting the delivery of key messages to thecontractor’sorganisation.
